A 37-year-old male presents with acute epigastric pain radiating to the back. Serum amylase is markedly elevated. Initial CT demonstrated pancreatic oedema, peripancreatic oedema and fluid collections. Pancreatic enhancement on portal venous phase CT is heterogeneous, with several regions of the pancreas not enhancing. The patient’s symptoms improved and he was later discharged.

A follow up CT of the abdomen performed approximately 8 weeks after symptom onset shows improvement in inflammatory changes although several persistent fluid collections around the pancreas. What is the most appropriate term to describe the fluid collections seen on this follow-up CT?
